Although my schedule fills up quickly, I do try to make room for any client who would like to come see me.  This little guy was scheduled to have his photos taken with another photographer, but when mom called after he was born to confirm a date she could not reach the photographer with whom she had already paid a deposit.  My heart broke knowing this new mom might not be able to get pictures of her sweet little boy, so I made plans for him to come in.  This is just yet another reason why you should research your photographer: how long have they been in business, how many babies have they photographed, are they willing to give you references from previous clients?  With digital cameras at the tip of our fingers it is so easy for anyone to pick up a camera and call themselves a photographer, but do your homework and make sure you are getting a reputable professional or you might just end up in panic mode once you little one arrives.

They drove over an hour away and I got to spend some time with this sweet little boy.  He was just a joy to have in the studio ,and although he fought me for a while on falling asleep, I finally won and was able to get some amazing shots of him.  I loved the beautiful blanket that his mom brought for me to use along with the most adorable hat. It is always nice when I am able to work in items brought from home!
